A tragic accident on Highway 7 yesterday resulted in the death of a 32-year-old driver. Police reported that at around 6:30 p.m., officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP, with assistance from Peterborough OPP, Fire, and EMS, responded to a serious two-vehicle collision near the intersection of Parkhill Road and Lily Lake Road.
The 32-year-old driver was killed, while the other motorist was taken to a trauma hospital with life-threatening injuries. The area was closed for several hours as OPP officers trained in collision reconstruction conducted their investigation, but has since been reopened. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
